The first thing I notice from your aplay -l is the lack of IEC Linux – Hardware This forum is audoi Hardware issues. The other point is that there might possibly be something in the BIOS configuration which is spdif specific. I’ve edited the modprobe. I can dual-boot XP. The thing that is most puzzling to me is that when I run aslamixer, I don’t see an IEC ll4s5mg or a spdif device. Works kick azz in windoz and the audio is great 5.
If you’d like to contribute content, let us know. The output of your aplay -l doesn’t show it, so I think there is nothing you can do with mixers etc.
Sadly I can only get at the data coming out of the mixer itself, after it has been transformed by the device. Having trouble installing a piece of hardware? I guess I could compile ALSA from scratch, but I don’t want to go to the trouble unless there aren’t any other good options left. I do not have your chipset. I posted a message to the alsa-users mailing list, about a week ago but I still haven’t got a response.
I just looked at the configuration of my kernel, and didn’t notice anything spdif specific. So although I can record from SPDIF with the mixer, the bytes I put on the hard drive do not auxio exactly with the bytes that were recorded in the first place.

No such device aplay -D plug: Currently running wilsonet’s basic setup and it works fine on analog.
If you need to reset your password, click here. Granted I’m somewhat of a newbie so maybe that doesn’t auvio much. Basically I do that via a second hard drive and the ability of the BIOS to direct the boot sequence through the master boot record of any of the installed hard drives.
Join our community today! In Linux, it’ll play outpout on spidf, but it’s so quiet it’s like it’s not working at all.
Want ll4s5mg know if that peripheral is compatible with Linux? This book contains many real life examples derived from the author’s experience as a Linux system and network administrator, l4d5mg and consultant. I am currently using 1. I am not quite sure what version of alsa you have. However you do need to be sure that your alsa libraries and utils are recent and complete.

It might be worth checking the kernel config just to be sure that you do.
